Yoga

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Yesterday, I went with four of my colleagues to start a yoga class. I would’ve chosen something more interesting if I hadn’t been Taiping and their limited choices. That was what I thought before I went to the class. When I went there and started to follow their movements, it was another story. Totally a very challenging experience.. I found myself having trouble stretching and following the right position. By the time the whole routine was over, I’m almost exhausted. Came back with muscle ache everywhere. Work was a struggle this morning with every movement leading to muscle aches. Didn’t realise my body was so stiff and unhealthy…Haha…guess I should do this more often.

Gastric and Endoscope

Friday, January 19th, 2007

Pylori1b_1 Recently, my father have been diagnosed with having Helicobacter pylori in the gastrointestinal tract. It’s a type of helical bacteria that causes stomach ulcer. Warren and Marshall won a Nobel Prize in Medicine 2 years ago for discovering this organism. It is known that this bacteria can be transmitted through food and therefore family members is advised to be tested for the bacteria as well.

Coincidently, I got the opportunity to meet the specialist in my hospital 3 days ago and he offered to do a scope test for me. It was FOC and since I do have gastric sometimes, I thought its worth going through the test. So the next day, I headed to the endoscopy room for my first experience of oesophago-gastroduodenoscopy to check for the presence of the bacteria.

First, they put some bitter aneasthetic into my mouth. Then I can feel my mouth going numb. After that, the specialist started to put the long black thing called the endoscope into my mouth. Its a camera to see the inner side of our gastrointestinal tract. That thing was 1.5 m long and not exactly small in diameter. Ercp20endoscope When he started pushing through my throat, it felt horrible. I was choking, coughing and tears started flowing and I couldn’t control it.  Then the scope was already in my stomach, I can feel it inside. Without any warning, he already started pulling it out and the whole experience of choking and coughing repeated again before the thing was out. Then it was done. It all lasted less than 15minutes but it wasn’t a pleasant experience. I wouldn’t go for one of those in a long long time. The result? H. pylori negative but I do have mild gastritis. Oh well, 6 weeks on PPI then.

Then today, I was reading what the coming year of pig has install for me. Guess what? They actually advised me to be careful of gastric problems. Haha…

Holiday in KL

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

I purposely took leave on the 3-5th of January so that i have a long New Year holiday. Spent the last few days in KL and felt great satisfaction over it. Went down on Sat and my first destination was the going clubbing with my friends (June, Yen2 & Tung Mei) at Zouk Velvet. The place n music were a real blast but I don’t like the smell of tobacco that lingered and stuck in my hair… so hard to get it off la…

The next day I went countdown at Starhill. There were ppl everywhere and we laze around to kill 5 hours before the moment of counting down arrives. Then we waited again for 2 hours for the traffic to ease before heading home… Hmmm…7 hours for a few minutes of fireworks.

The next few days is just  go for shopping, shopping n more shopping for me.. Haha… What to do…cannot buy anything in Taiping. So shop like a crazy woman in Kl lor…

The year 2007 seems to be very kind to me indeed. Only a few days and I alredy got 2 occassion where my meal was not billed. First was during new years’ eve… I was dining with Ivy, her bf n her bro. Everything else was billed except mine. Then on the 2nd, my bottomless Ice Lemon Tea wasn’t counted as well as. Haha… Now feel kinda bad for eating ‘ba wong chan’ oh…

Anyway, now the very thing i need most is a good rest. Drove alone from KL back to Ipoh just now. Will spend the remaining holidays at my Ipoh home before starting work again.

Year 2006

Monday, January 1st, 2007

For me, year 2006 started with a ‘bang’. Yup, a real bang because I was involved in a car accident on the first of January itself. A big car hit the back of my fragile local car…

The year then gone by with much changes in my life. From being student to being a house pharmacist, staying in a big and lifely city of KL to a small quiet town called Taiping, as well as from having my significant other by my side to clinging to my broadband to get to him.

So then year 2006 has ended and here comes year 2007. It started with a bang for me too…but then this time around…its just fireworks kind of bang (good kinda bang). Looking forward to a great year ahead.

My new year resolution (haven’t really thought of it but these are some of it):

1. To be a fully registered pharmacist

2. Treat myself with some nice merchandises from my hard earned money.

3. Have a good financial management plan for myself.

4. Get regular exercise

5.  Ermmmm..still thinking…haha

Happy New Year Everybody!
