An Unforgettable Ordeal
Tuesday, October 31st, 2006Early in the morning today, I was feeling very happy because I only have to work 1.5 hours. My head was full of ideas of what to do with all the extra time that I claimed back for working during holiday. After work, I just head straight to enjoy a nice breakfast and bought newspaper before going back to my house. The thought of having the whole house to myself really feels good at that time. I wanted to rest and relax after being so hectic for the past month. Alas, when I reached my house, I saw the windows and doors were open. That indicates that someone from next door (my landlord lives next door) has came in. I was so worried because I thought it was my landlady’s brother. That guy has been behaving strangely eversince me and housemates moved in. When I found out it was the landlord, I was so relieved. So I just do my own stuff and let him fix the things he came to do.
To my surprise, that guy really did come over with the excuse of looking at what his brother-in-law doing. Wah…then he try to start conversation with me. I just answered him half-heartedly. I thought that would be the end of it as he walk out of my room. Suddenly, he asked me if I’m free later since i’m not working. He wanted to ask me something later he said. After he left, I really freaked out because I was alone and the owner said he and the wife are going out. Now being alone isn’t such fun anymore. I tried to call my housemates but they didnt pick up. Then I told my mom and my boy2. They both asked me to leave the house. And so I did. I felt like a victim running away from my stalker. Reminds me of the time when I was in Form 3. Sigh…
Somehow, words spread and before I drive back to the house at 5pm (my housemates will be off work by then), our owner already knew about our concern. Before this incident occur, there has been some other instances that made us feel insecure. He came into our house without informing us and made us feel threatened because we’re only 3 girls in the house and no guys. So, both the landlady and landlord came right over and talked to 3 of us face to face. She assured us that nothing will happen and that the place is very secure. She’ll keep the key to herself.
Hopefully no such thing will ever happen again for a long long time. A joyous day away from work had became a nightmare instead.
