Freedom to Vote

March 6th, 2008 by jesse-wong

I have never written anything political in my blog. But since 8th of Mac is just 2 days away… oh what the heck… just once.

With the position that I’m in, many people seems to be advising me to safeguard myself. There’s no point jeopardising my career with just a cross in the wrong box. I had believed when I first took this road that my freedom to vote would be temporarily frozen. Not only me but many many others like me believe it as well. But as the time to vote came nearer and nearer, especially with all the campaigning going on, I have begin to believe otherwise.

It is a real sad thing when i found out that the people around me (esp my fellow colleagues… be it doctors or pharmacists) are actually not registered eventhough they are already qualified years ago. Many are politically ignorant and some is even naive. Oh well, probably can’t blame them. All of us are product of Malaysian education.

As Malaysian citizens, voting is our only way to make the country a better place to live. That’s where we can voice out our unsatisfaction. (however dark the system is…) I wouldn’t let all the rumours bar from me from exercising my rights.

Thanks to some of my political literate (dunno if there’s such word) friends… namely Ennie, Kenny, Ivy and veteran colleagues… I am following your footstep =). So here I am… telling everybody that I am practising my voting rights!! Good Luck to me… Hahaha…..

p/s: This is as political as I will get.

Isn’t it ironic?

February 27th, 2008 by jesse-wong

My work now involves around in-patient care. Everyday, part of my job is to do the best for the patient and because of this I am always around doctors. Every morning I will do rounds with them. Everytime whenever there is some problems with patient’s medication, I will look for them and they will be there. Today… I was in a terrible gastric pain. Today… is the day when I myself needed them. Today is the day that I became a patient. But… none is around. I couldn’t even find a single doctor to help me at that very moment when I needed them. Life is full of irony… isn’t it?

End of Year 2007

January 2nd, 2008 by jesse-wong

End of the year is a time to party like there’s no tomorrow. Actually more like party like it’s the end of a great year (apart from my crazy ex-neighbours) and celebrating a new year ahead. Looking back to the year 2007, it seems like I’ve spent a great deal of money. Other than constant shoppings for clothes, bag, shoes! and accessories… I’ve also forked out nearly RM5k for a desktop and PDA. Much of it have also gone into investments (which is not really a waste). So, thanks a lot to my ‘big boss’ for the salary increment (& no thanks for the scandal *wink*). I needed it very much. Hahaha…

One of my friends mentioned year 2007 as a year for friends… And I couldn’t agree more. She thanked me for being there for her… And I would say exactly the same thing to her! Thanks is not even enough… thinking back… we actually started and ended year 2007 together :) I would also wanna express my gratitude to my friends for being there for me during special occasions and holidays esp. during CNY, Raya, Xmas n New Year. I would have to spend a lonely holiday if not for them as my bf is in a far away land… Not forgetting my housemates and workmates for being so nice. ( u know who u r guys :))

This year wasn’t really much of a traveling year for me as I spent it confined to Malaysia (more like West Peninsula Malaysia). The furthest I went is KL. Nevertheless, I did made a lot of trips to KL (esp), Penang… ermm…that’s about it. Oh, and one trip to Cameron Highlands. Hehe… Hopefully 2008 will be quite opposite! (I’m going to Hawaii no matter what!)(so expecting even more spending, hehe)

As for my career, everything is considered still going smooth so far (apart from some minor glitches). No transfers to some remote places or to some departments that I hate. So, hope it will remain the same this year or gets better. Still can’t see what’s ahead for me after my compulsory service… So let’s pray that this will change this year.

Looking forward, I’m guessing year 2008 will be a year of marriage (not mine la… dun worry). Already 4 of my girlfriends have hinted marriage this year ( 2 already confirmed the dates) and 2 of my cousins are getting married this CNY. I’m guessing there’ll be more that I have yet to receive the news. Oh yeah!, one of my classmate is going to register her marriage tomorrow… Congrats my friend. May you live happily ever after :)

Monkeys, Monkeys Everywhere

November 6th, 2007 by jesse-wong

Eversince I’m working in the land of Never-Ending-Rain, monkeys have been a common site for me. Nothing special when I see a monkey messing around. There’s a whole bunch of them in the Lake Gardens. I never see them as threat to me until today. My friends and I were going up Maxwell Hill (one of those rare days when there’s no rain in the evening) as we usually do. When we came back down and head for the car, quite a number of them were surrounding my friend’s car. We thought we’ll just shoo them away and get up the car. But when we go nearer, 2 of them sneaked out from the bottom of the car and looked as if they wanna pounce on us. As we go back further, it came nearer to us. We felt so threatened and helpless… (3 girls only). The sky was getting darker and darker and we’re stuck outside. The guy that saw what’s happening was of no help either. ‘Tak berani,’ he said and ran off. Sigh…  In the end, we just waited across the road until we felt that it was safe again to get into the car. Wheww….

The ‘New’ Me

October 23rd, 2007 by jesse-wong

I’ve been meaning to do this for a very long time but then everytime I wanted to go ahead… I chicken out. Out of 10 people that I ask, there’s only one who will support my idea. Others will advise me against it. They will say things like … Don’t! Your hair is so nice and long, so sayang… Many will think that it’s so hard to be able to keep such a long hair. So precious to be cut off.  I was like ??? huh!? Cut already the hair can grow back, right?

So… on that fateful Raya holiday, I went straight to the hair salon and told them I wanna cut short. I’m lucky that the person cutting my hair is very supportive and firm. She never hessitate when cutting my hair… Just one snip and there was no looking back already. Five hours later, I walked out of the salon with a total different look… the so called Rihanna’s hairdo. A total change from my old long, curly hairdo.

It’s almost 2 weeks already since my haircut and I have no regrets. Everyone notices the difference (and I meant EVERYONE) and there were only praises (some occasional difference in opinion). Most importantly, I look younger. Hahaha…

Updates

October 4th, 2007 by jesse-wong

Been quite a long time since I last posted anything in this blog. That’s because of this shift in my career that I need to look into and plus many other unexpected things that came along the way which I had to handle. Main reason is because I only get back my streamyx service today. =)

Anyway, wanna tell everyone that I am fortunately still posted to Hospital Taiping and not gone to some ‘ulu-ulu’ place with no civilisation. Now I am considered a Fully Registered Pharmacist which means I have to do my duty as a professional and not just some newly graduated students (mistakes were forgivable then…sigh…)

Somehow, I was chosen to be a clinical pharmacist by my boss… which is equal to study, study and study for me… Need to have all pharmaceutical knowledge by my fingertips. Good luck to me. Haha…

Then, there is this change of place to stay in Taiping. A much cheaper and nearer place. I’ve been busy packing and unpacking my stuffs as well as doing some necessary touch ups to the new place. Now I’m still adjusting to the new environment.

Also wanna take the opportunity to apologise my friends: Fee Peng, Callie and gang… Sorry ya…couldn’t make it to your potluck birthday party. To Ivy and Jo, couldn’t join u guys to Bangkok la…too expensive (wanna save money oh…u know y la…hehe). Maybe heading to KL on the 26th for my coursemates wedding… maybe can catch up with you gals then.

Big Turn Ahead

September 7th, 2007 by jesse-wong

Seems like yesterday when I was first posted to Hospital Taiping to work there as a PRP. Another one week and it will actually be exactly one year. A year ago, I was told that I’ll be working in Taiping for 4 years. So I have already settle down n prepare to be here for as long as it takes. I’ve even planned to move to another new place but it seems that the authority has other plans for us. Many of those in Ipoh were transfered out although they were suppose to stay where they are. So now I’m crossing my fingers and pray hard I’ll get back the place I want……
